Te rog astepta, se incarca...

Originally opened in Park Slope in 1999, Bird has expanded to two other Brooklyn locations (Williamsburg and Cobble Hill) making it even easier to shop its delightful independent labels of men’s and women’s clothing.

The scene here is a street-style photographer’s wet dream. With shoppers outfitted in ensembles as exciting as the clothing for sale, passersby will be enraptured by the going-ons at the 2,240-square-foot Soho outpost, Marant’s first in the U.S. Inside, the decor reads more like a chic interpretation of an urban lake house than the Parisian boutique you might expect, and the store’s high ceilings and bleached wood are the perfect vehicle for showcasing both Marant’s ready-to-wear collection and her contemporary label, Etoile.

A gazebo at the center of the store is filled with swoonworthy footwear, studded handbags and accessories (a pendant necklace costs $105; crystal hoop earrings are $270). While Marant’s signature pieces are too steep for most (a patchwork raccoon-fur jacket runs $3,200), Etoile’s wares range from $135 to $530 for super-soft heathered tees, plaid shirts, twill jackets and trenches. And we don’t know ’bout you, but we’re fully prepared to blow next month’s rent on one-shoulder silk dresses with waist-cinching sashes ($415), slouchy paper-bag-waist shorts ($280), and canvas boots with suede fringe, silver chains and four-inch conical heels ($1,160).

Fashion-forward Brooklyn residents flock to this unconventional boutique for its brood of up-and-coming local and international designers. Rubbing shoulders on the tightly packed racks in the slightly rustic space, the store stocks its usual stylish lineup of emerging and well-known designers, as well as a limited-edition organic collection by Steven Alan, 3.1 Phillip Lim embellished tees exclusive to the store, animal-friendly accessories by Stella McCartney, organic tie-dye bags and dresses by Bodkin, and limited-edition screenprints by Fox in Mociun, plus collections by Isabel Marant, Rachel Comey, Tsumori Chisato, Zero by Maria Cornejo and more.
